Kentucky Oven Chicken

Ditch the takeaway and get making this Kentucky Oven Chicken, tastes exactly like the chain brand but without the fry!. It’s also GF for an added bonus!  I’ve worked on this recipe for a few months, trying to get the spices right, I think this is as close as you can get! 12 Spices and ready in 20 minutes.

Method

Mix all the spice ingredients together in a bowl along with 1 tbs of olive oil, dip the chicken into the spice and coat thoroughly, then roll in the flour, into the egg and then roll over the oats. Oven roast with a little drizzle of olive oil for around 15-20 minutes at 180c.

Mix the flour, salt, baking powder and water together and pipe into 170c vegetable oil, for 1-2 mins until golden brown.

  • 1/2 x Tsp Coriander Powder
  • 1 x Tsp Chili Powder
  • 2 x Tsp Paprika
  • 1 x Tsp Dried basil
  • 1 x Tsp Dried marjoram
  • 1/2 x Tsp Dried sage
  • 1/2 x Tsp Oregano
  • 1 x Tsp All spice
  • 1/2 Tsp Celery salt
  • 1/2 Tsp Smoked paprika
  • Pinch Salt
  • Pinch Pepper
  • 1 x Tbsp Olive Oil

 

  • 1 x Egg
  • 200g Rolled GF Oats
  • 100g Plain GF Flour
  • 1 x Tbsp Olive oil
