Well it’s the end of festival season and the colder months are already upon us. I was contacted a year ago about being involved with Chris Evans festival ‘Carfest’, its a large family based festival with the heart and sole being motor driven, music for the evenings and really exceptional food. Unfortunately I couldn’t get to the south show, but did manage to get across to the northern one in Cheshire. I performed on stage with other great chefs, Joe Hurd, Candice Brown and Tom Kerridge to a great turn out of around 500 people. My aim was to cook something that was realistic for people to recreate using only ingredients you can get from your local show. We made a chickpea curry with coriander and cauliflower rice. It all had to be filmed within the 30 minutes slot and I managed to get everything dished up in twenty. I’ll pop the recipe in the recipe section and keep everyone posted about the 2018 shows. Get across to http://www.carfest.org/welcome/welcome-to-carfest-north and grab some tickets, it really is a very special festival.
